No time to pray?

The average American spends hours in front of a computer these days. While they make work easier, the also increase the workload and the expectations in the modern workplace. Unfortunately, we easily lose the habit of daily prayer and can feel spiritually malnourished often times. One solution is to use your computer to help you pray!

"Sacred Space" is a website developed by the Irish Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). It originated in the offices of the Jesuit Communication Centre in Ireland in 1999. Being a ministry of the Irish Jesuits, it is inspired by the spirituality of Saint Ignatius of Loyola (Ignatian spirituality).

The website leads you through a 5 minute meditation using your heart and imagination. There is a meditation for every day of the year. Some folks use it as soon as they turn on their home computer for the day. Others visit the site as they sit down with their laptop or PC at the office!

Since it is a work of the heart and imagination, you don't have to mystify your colleagues at work while you sing some hymn or read Bible verses aloud. It is meant as a "silent place" to go to as you begin the day, or at any time of day.

Try it, you might like it.
